GA concerns

[edit]

I am concerned that this article no longer meets the good article criteria due to uncited statements, including entire paragraphs and most of the alumni and notable faculty. Is anyone interested in fixing up this article or should this go to WP:GAR? Z1720 (talk) 03:57, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed on the faculty section. After the new year I should have some time to clean up much of the rest of the article. SEMMENDINGER (talk) 06:02, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Had some free time this morning and since this was fresh on the mind I fixed the history section. The rest of the article appears well-sourced from my perspective. Instead of ambiguous references all pointing to the biographies of the college I added end notes with each claim specifically referenced. There's now a works cited section at the bottom to organize such sources. I'll leave the cleanup of the faculty section alone for now, I'm not sure what is the best approach for fixing it. Just removing the fluff at the top and going directly into a list of faculty? I checked 15 other college/uni pages and there is no standard way of doing it. I actually kind of like the Lafayette page's alumni section but agree there needs to be more citations. SEMMENDINGER (talk) 15:57, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Semmendinger: Pomona College, a recently promoted featured article, might be the best example of what to do with this section. I think the list in this article needs to be shorter and information cited. Z1720 (talk) 22:19, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I'll get to work on something in my sandbox. I'll try to have it up and running within a few weeks' time. SEMMENDINGER (talk) 22:52, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
